I had a bar of dark chocolate, and the chocolate cherry combination is black forest – so it was the perfect addition. I decided to also add in some grated chocolate, as it’s a little bit like chocolate chips.

The wonderful thing about these cherries is that they are soft, and FULL of flavour! You can use a cherry pie filling instead if you want alcohol free, or you can’t find the cherries in kirsch! For the cherries, I used cherries soaked in kirsch, that come in a jar. There are notes below on using real chocolate – but honestly, cocoa powder is just so easy. It’s four ingredients, and you just add it all to a bowl – and whisk! The mixture doesn’t need to be too thick, it just needs to be combined, and starting to thicken! With no-churn, you don’t have to do any of this. The reason they are called no-churn is that you don’t need a fancy pants ice cream maker to create it! Often, when you make a classic ice cream mix with a custard base you would need to use an ice cream machine, or make sure you mix the mixture in the freezer every few hours to prevent any issues!   • Layer ⅓ of the ice cream into a 9x5 inch loaf pan or another freezer-safe container. Whisk in NESTL Carnation Condensada, evaporated milk, MILO mixture, cherry syrup, shaved chocolate, chopped cherries and vanilla extract.
  • Chop the brownies into small chunks and fold those through the ice cream mix.
  • Add in the condensed milk and gently fold it with a rubber spatula to combine.
  • Whip the heavy cream, cocoa powder, and vanilla in a large bowl until stiff peaks form.
  • Once the cherry compote has cooled, begin the ice cream.
  • Once simmering, cook the cherries for around 10 minutes, stirring regularly with a wooden spoon until some excess liquid has reduced and slightly thickened.
  • Stir at regular intervals as they come to a simmer.
  • Cook over low-medium heat while the cherries' juices start to release.
  • Combine the cherries, sugar, lemon juice, and a pinch of salt in a medium saucepan over low-medium heat.
